Van Eeden-Room

Frederik van Eeden (1860-1932) was a writer, psychiatrist and social reformer. Founded in 1898 in Bussum de kolonie Walden, a fundamentally anti-capitalist commune. In 1916, he became involved in the plans for the ISVW but withdrew upon the establishment along with L.E.J. Brouwer back. Both where then active in the significa, a  Dutch conceptual critical movement that focused on the improvement of the understanding by means of analysis of the language.

‘Language critical reflection is a most serious matter of all.’
