ISVW Denkgoed

The Internationale School voor Wijsbegeerte is first and foremost an independent philosophical institute for courses, with a social mission. Separate from Landgoed ISVW—which offers hotel and meeting facilities—ISVW focuses on developing and sharing philosophical knowledge. This is done through a broad range of courses and programmes, for both those interested in public philosophy and professionals who want to apply philosophy in their work.

Since 1916

Since its foundation in 1916, inspired by the vision of J.D. Reiman, ISVW has stood for deepening people’s understanding of life and the world. The courses are characterised by an open and informal atmosphere in which participants not only learn, but also reflect and meet one another. For example, during conversations in the lounge or walks in the surrounding woods. Many participants return, and some join the Friends of ISVW, who support the non-profit institute. ISVW also develops tailored programmes for organisations and businesses, applying philosophical insights to issues such as integrity, leadership and collaboration.
